Best on the NE side. That's it. That's all that needed to be said. Consistent food. Consistent wonderful customer service.

Food is hot! They are very nice and fast. Good tasting food. The place is very small but they have amazing food as well as affordable and they aren't stingy with the food amounts, my favorite place to go from now on.

"One of the main carryouts I'll go too any other carryout is either rude, nasty or the food isn't great.

Only tried the wings, fries, mambo sauce and Arnold Palmer. All delicious. It's the payment system that's less than desirable. A cash business or you pay with cash app or ATM. Of course there is a fee for using cash app. It's just not safe. But they are behind the pkexy.

I had a random craving for Chinese one night so I took a leap of faith and tried China Cafe Carryout for the first time, due to its reviews and I was not disappointed. I ordered the orange chicken, white rice, and a egg roll and my cravings were well satisfied. They did not hold back on the portion size either. I had enough for dinner and lunch the next day. My only issue was they only accepted cash. As someone who doesn't carry cash, I became discouraged but strangely enough, they accepted CashApp so I was able to pay for my food. There was a ATM inside the restaurant also though I had no intention in using it. I highly recommend though! Just remember, if you don't have CashApp or aren't comfortable with using a random ATM, then take cash!

Hands down this has to be one of the best Chinese spots I've tried in the DMV. The food was fresh and everything was hot. Portion size was great and the food was flavorful. I would probably tell them to limit the amount of onions the next tome I visits. The establishment only takes 2 forms of payment Cash or CashApp so be prepared. Their sesame chicken is also good, not captured in photos.

This has become one of my favorite carryouts! I'm originally from PG county and I have my local faves but my mom recently moved to NE and when I want carryout, I don't want to drive across down. Thankfully, I know to check out Yelp so that I can find the best of the best. To test out China Cafe, I went with a few of our fave: spring rolls, shrimp & broccoli, and shrimp egg foo yung. I'm pleased to say that each of them were tasty and well-prepared. I also appreciate that the actual restaurant appears to be clean and well kept as that is a big issue with many carryouts. One thing I don't like about this carryout is that they only take cash or cashapp. It would be great if they took credit cards.

Menu Highlights That Keep Washingtonians Coming Back

One look at the China Cafe Carryout menu, and you’ll understand why it’s a neighborhood gem. A standout? The Chicken Wings. Lightly crispy, seasoned well, and available with fried rice, they’ve earned rave reviews online and off. The Seafood options, like Shrimp with Garlic Sauce or Scallops in Black Bean Sauce, showcase freshness that’s not always easy to find in casual carryout spots. And if you’re after something comforting, the Egg Foo Young and Chicken Fried Rice hit all the right notes.

Don’t overlook the vegetarian dishes, either. With generous portions of stir-fried vegetables, tofu, and flavorful sauces, there’s something for everyone. The spice level is customizable, so if you like it hot, just let them know.
